Created by Eli Birnbaum in response to a terrorist attack in Tekoa, this full text book is a guide to dealing with the emotional impact of such an event from a psychological, practical, and religious perspective. Links to Israeli and non-Israeli mental health sites are also provided. This is an insightful and comprehensive guide that will be of enormous help in dealing with issues of death and terrorism.

Created by the Jewish Funeral Practices Committee of Greater Washington, this searchable site provides information about the origins of and customs surrounding Jewish burial practices. There are sections on preparing the body, burial, mourning customs, medical ethics, the funeral industry, and links to relevant sites.

A site on which people can “ share their memories and tributes to the people we lost.”

This Hebrew language home page serves as a memorial site for Israeli soldiers who have fallen in war. The site is searchable by name, place and date of death. A copy of the prayer for fallen soldiers is available along with information on Yom HaZikaron, the Israel Memorial Day.

“The portal provides a broad epigraphic search into Jewish funerary inscriptions from antiquity to the twentieth century. The data derives from specific regions, such as Israel and ancient Palestine, Germany, and Italy.”

A site devoted to providing “comprehensive information about understanding the shiva process, how to cope with loss, what to do during a shiva, and how to comfort family and friends.” While the site has some commercial aspects, it also provides information about the mourning process.
